November 12, 2025 at 6 pm the City of Plantation will be holding a Town Hall Meeting at Volunteer Park, with the Plantation Acres residents, to present the City's capabilities to provide flood control and water management services, if the residents decide to approve the dissolution of PAID. On September 17, 2025, the City of Plantation City Council will have a hearing and vote on a Resolution related to the dissolution of PAID. The meeting will be at City Hall at 6 pm and we encourage our Plantation Acres residents to attend. On February 27, 2025, the Board of Supervisors of the Plantation Acres Improvement District (PAID) voted 4-1 to voluntarily dissolve the District. A new playground at North Acres Park has been included in the FY26 budget that starts on October 1, 2025. Once the final product is selected and approved by City Council we have been promised an updated timeline.

From August 24 - September 7 the City will temporarily switch to free chlorination to maintain water quality. Water remains safe to drink, cook with, and bathe in.

North Acres Park officially opens on June 14th with over $3.4 million dollars worth of improvements. A new playground has been included in the FY26 budget that starts on October 1, 2025. The city hopes to have the playground open in November of 2025.

The Plantation City Council and Plantation Acres residents expressed support for an application for a Florida Department of Environmental Protection Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grant to help repair the bridges at the Equestrian Center/Volunteer Park. Estimated cost for the “Y” Bridge repairs is $700,000. The request for the grant would cover half. The city heard from the residents how important it is to repair both bridges that have been closed for safety reasons and is committed to doing so.
