There is a proposed charter amendment on the council agenda for January 26 to determine whether a majority of the electors voting are in favor of changing the city’s form of government from that of a strong mayor to that of a council-manager. This would delete the office of the mayor and the strong mayor powers while creating the charter office of city manager.
